TRAP SHOOTING

Congratulations to Tom Lewis who has won two gold medals.

The National Secondary School Trapshooting Championship were held at multiple venues around NZ during the recent school holidays. Tom was 1st equal against all comers (open) and was the only junior in the South Island to score a possible 100/100 on 1st bell, and was awarded the gold medal for the South Island Junior Championship.

Approximately 340 shooters entered the contest from across New Zealand.

Tom also won a regional final points score competition, again with a maximum points score (60 points).

An outstanding effort as Tom is in his first year of shooting.

SURFING

Congratulations to Jack Tyro who won the National Under 14 Surfing title at the National Surf Champs in Kaikoura over the holidays. James Miller and Tom Robertson were also part of the Canterbury team that took out the overall team winners at the nationals. A great effort by all boys.

SWIMMING

Congratulations to Oliver Lutton who has won one gold and two silver medals at the short course swimming nationals over the holidays. Oliver has done really well considering these nationals have been postponed serval times this year which has impacted on his training schedule.

MOUNTING BIKING

Congratulations to Luke and Alex Wayman who competed at the national Mountain Biking Championship over the holidays. Luke was 1st in the Under 15 Enduro, and 2nd in the downhill. Alex was 2nd in the Under 17 Downhill and 3rd in the Enduro. This was an outstanding achievement by both riders.

RUGBY

Rugby prize-giving is being held this Sunday in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) at 11.00am. I would like to encourage all boys who were involved in rugby to attend.

BASKETBALL

Basketball prize-giving is being held on Sunday in the PAC at 4.00pm. All Saturday players are encouraged to attend.
