An update

Philpotts Road closes for one day

On Friday 29 May from 7am to 7pm, the left-out lane from Philpotts Road onto QEII Drive will be closed to all traffic while we complete the road surfacing at this new intersection.

While the Philpotts Road intersection is closed, you can either use Innes Road or Main North Road to access QEII Drive.

Access to the shared cycle and pedestrian path on QEII Drive will still be possible to and from Philpotts Road by following the fenced off path and signage.

This work is weather dependent, so the closure could be a day later than now planned.

The Philpotts/QEII Intersection will remain left-out only onto QEII Drive until early July. At this time we switch traffic onto the new QEII Drive lanes and the Philpotts/QEII Intersection will be left-in and left-out permanently.

Reminder - Night work at Tram Road and Off-ramp

Nightly from Sunday 24 May to Friday 29 May 8pm to 5am, we will be installing ducts under Tram Road for future traffic signals.

The Tram Road southbound on-ramp will be closed each night and traffic using Tram Road will be managed with stop/go controls. Expect delays of up to five minutes on Tram Road.

Tram Road traffic wanting to access the motorway southbound will need to divert to Main North Road.

During the work there is no right turn from the Tram Road off-ramp. If heading to Kaiapoi please use the Ohoka Road exit.

During this night work there will be a temporary 30km/h speed limit.
