Concert a chance to see world-acclaimed choir
Year 12 student Simon Curnow will be singing with the New Zealand Secondary Students' Choir during the school holidays. Their repertoire includes songs you won't hear anywhere else in the world, so don't miss out on seeing them in action.
The New Zealand Secondary Students Choir are on tour these September holidays, and this includes a concert in Christchurch on 28 September, 7:30pm at St Mary’s Pro Cathedral.
The choir is amazing this year after coming off a high note of last year’s success, being named Youth Choir of the World. The choir has 56 of the best secondary student singers in the country. Unfortunately, this is the only time we are touring the South Island for 2023 and 2024.
The selection of songs we are singing cover all corners of the world. Languages include German, French, African, Latin, Samoan, Māori, English and more. Our Māori and Samoan repertoire are songs especially composed for the NZSSC and the rights to them belong exclusively to the choir, so you won’t hear them sung anywhere else in the world!
We have had concerts in Wellington and Auckland already where teachers (musical and not) have come along to watch their students and have really enjoyed it. Some students from St Bede’s have already booked tickets for the Christchurch concert and it would be awesome to see some of you there that night.
