Reflecting on our 40 Hours of Adoration

Rachel Pitcaithly —

This week we completed our 40 hours of Eucharistic Adoration in our College Chapel.

The Adoration period began after the 5pm Parish Mass, with a Eucharistic Procession around the central quad. Fr Allan Jones SM led the procession carrying the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance, pausing at each building to bless it while those in the procession prayed a decade of the Rosary as we processed.

Once the procession returned to the Chapel, our period of Adoration began.

Over the next 40 hours, students, staff, sports teams, whanau, members of the Parish and members of the Diocesan Mission Team arrived to spend time in Adoration. During the school day, groups of varying year levels joined together in the Chapel to adore our Lord and overnight people arrived to do the same. The lit-up Chapel called us all in!

To complete the 40 hours, our Chapel band, the Holy Foleys, played a range of popular hymns which culminated in Benediction.
