Commonwealth Games Selection

Kathryn Eagle —

Congratulations to David Brydon (2010-2014) and Joe Morrison (2015-2019) who have both made the NZ Men's Hockey team for Birmingham!

We caught up with Joe in our May newsletter following his initial call-up to the national side.

David captained the St Bede's First XI Hockey Team in 2013 and 2014, debuted for the New Zealand U-21 team at the Junior Oceania Cup, and made his senior international debut with the Black Sticks in 2016. He played at last year's Tokyo Olympics.

Birmingham will be both players' Commonwealth Games debut.

Good luck David and Joe!

If you would like to follow David and Joe's progress at the games, the New Zealand Men's Hockey team feature in Pool A in group stage:

31 July 8pm (9am UK time) - Vs Pakistan

1 August 6am (7pm UK time) - Vs Australia
