Life as a Boarder
Term 4 always presents a busy time in the boarding house. With the pool open again summer is just around the corner, which means our senior students shift their focus to exam preparation while we all embrace the warmer weather coupled with the longer evenings.
Term 4 usually means boarders can either be found on the front field playing touch rugby or enjoying a dip in the school pool. This Sunday we will hold our final family mass for the year, which also holds a special place on the calendar as it provides us an opportunity for the boarding prizegiving in the company of friends and family. This is a great opportunity to get together as a boarding community and farewell our Year 13 students who have called St Bede’s home for the past five years. One last opportunity to celebrate their time at Bede’s as a boarding community presents itself in the Leavers' Ball on 27 October.
Next Thursday we will host our incoming Year 9s for 2024 with a sleepover to experience an evening in the boarding house and prepare them for the transition into life as a boarder next year. This is a great opportunity for our incoming boarders to make connections and get a feel for what life as a boarder is like before New Entrants' Day at school on the Friday.
