Parents' Prayer Group

Mrs Irene Macguire —

An Afternoon with Mary - Tuesday, 25 October

Tuesday, 25 October from 2 – 3 pm

St Bede’s Chapel

We will begin with a Rosary and conclude with prayers for our sons and all the staff at School.

This will be a wonderful hour to give all our concerns and joys to Mary – Jesus’ Mother - and ask her to intercede for us as she walks alongside us on our journey.

Prayers for this week

Please keep Rosalie Goode and her family close to your heart and in your prayers, as she prepares a future on her own without her beloved David.

May we all pause and pray for what is needed in her life and ask that God provides via her friends and family, all that she needs at this time.

I know that many of you truly know the challenges she faces in the future - having been or still on the same journey of grief as hers. I often wonder how this must be for you, and never forget that you too are still grieving.

The main focus for school at the moment is the pending exams and the completion of assessments for NCEA – as well as the junior exams later in the term.

Please pray for focus and best efforts from our students – may they be working towards what hopefully will be a great result for them all individually.

Pray for those that won’t succeed academically – pray that they succeed in self-esteem – after-all – that is what will get many young people through this difficult time of growing up.

Though for the day;

Put your hope in the Lord and he will keep you safe. (Proverbs 20 :22b)

Fear – what is it that you fear the most?

This is a question I asked my son today and his reply was that he feared what others perceived of him.

O my – this ‘fear’ can stop us moving forward and completing our journey of what we are destined to do.

May our own internal world not be bogged down with perception of others. May we seek to rely on God and trust in Him.

The Lord is very near.

There is no need to worry; but if there is anything you need, pray for it, asking God for it with prayer and thanksgiving,

And that peace of God, which is so much greater than we can understand, will guard your hearts and your thoughts,

In Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4: 5b -7)

Kindest regards and God Bless

Irene.
