Kia ora tātou

My name is Professor Anthony Ritchie and I’m Head of the School of Performing Arts at the University of Otago, in Dunedin, and a composer. I would like you to consider studying with us when you finish school. We offer courses in music, theatre and dance. You can learn an instrument (guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, violin, cello, and lots more) or singing (classical, contemporary or music theatre). You can learn to write songs, learn music production, study why music matters, and so on. You can learn to act, how to direct, how to work in a theatre, and study the theory behind it all. You can learn a variety of dance styles ranging from contemporary, popular culture and musical theatre and perform your own unique choreographies.

We have a great team of teachers here to help you achieve your dreams and goals. We also have a brand-new facility for teaching and recording, which you can see in our promotional video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqohd2YyLnQ

Visit our website too, and you’ll find heaps of information there about our courses:

You will find more information about the School of Performing Arts on our website: www.otago.ac.nz/performing-arts

I would also be happy to answer your enquiries. Send me a message or give me a call.
