Year 13 My Future Self Careers Programme

SBC Careers —

With the generous financial and professional support of the St Bede's College Old Boys' Association on Wednesday our Year 13 students completed day one of a two day seminar preparing them for life after school. We are very fortunate to have had the team at Zestpeople facilitate these sessions.

Supporting the team at Zest the boys were very fortunate to listen to old boys Scott Thomson, of Merivale Hand Clinic, and George Berry. You can learn more about them in the links below.

Each boy left the seminar having completed a booklet focusing on their strengths, personality type and employability skills. We encourage you as parents to discuss the learnings from the day with your son, in particular the last summary page.

The second seminar will occur in May. This will involve a morning session led by the team at Zestpeople that will build on the work from the session on Wednesday. The boys will learn how best to complete applications, CV,s and prepare for interviews. In the afternoon we will be running an industry expo where students are able to meet and interview a number of old boys in 15 minutes. Again many thanks to the Old Boys' Association for their generous support, and to Mr Ian McPherson for coming along on behalf of the Old Boys'.
