The latest round of Thomson Trophy Top 6 section had a formidable Christ’s College unit visit Bede’s. Against their much vaunted opposition, St Bede’s started relatively strongly keeping within touch of Christ’s however the visitors quickly shifted up a notch and began to dominate the scoreboard.

The crowd were treated to some highlight plays, with a Harrison Earl thunderous dunk bringing the loudest cheer of the night.

Christ’s College emphasised their standing as one of the top sides in the country and came away with an emphatic win however Bede’s fought till the final hooter.

James Leen with 13 and Harrison Earl 10 were the leading scorers for St Bede’s, with Agar Torres providing some spark from the bench with his aggressiveness netting 9 points.

The senior side takes a hiatus from the Thomson Trophy next week, being away at the Silverstream exchange which pushes the team into some unknown territory however the side is looking forward to the challenge of taking on their North Island rivals.

Thank you to all the Year 9/10 players who participated in the Junior Tournament team trial last Sunday, it was very heartening to see the numbers attending. This team will be announced early next week.

The club will be running a coaching clinic on Tuesday 13 July from 9am-3pm for all Year 9/10 boys to enhance their skills and learn the Bede’s style of play. Cost for this clinic will be $25 with our club coaches involved along with the possibility of some special guests.
