Welcome to the October edition of the Old Boys' newsletter

As I write this, the news has broken of the COVID outbreak in Christchurch, however, we are still at Level 2 and so the Golf Tournament can go ahead tomorrow.

This month, Reflections is about the Inner and Outer Quads, what memories do they bring back for us all? We have a chat with Old Boy Paul Lawrence about the work that he and fellow Old Boy Brad Fraser have done since leaving St Bede’s and what they are doing now. We also have a letter from another Old Boy Fr. Patrick O’Neil SM, who works in Brazil at a Pastoral Centre in the Parish of Santa Luzia and is able to continue working there thanks to the generosity of the Old Boys who have donated to the Mission Fund. Attached with his email is a piece he wrote for the US Marist Magazine “Today’s Marist” about Brazil during COVID, which makes sobering reading.
