Mrs Nola Kilpatrick —

Helpful Information for Exams and Fees.

Exam Week

Senior school exam countdown – One week to go (Monday 21-25Aug)

A little over one week until school exams. Senior students have received their exam timetable (see copy attached to this newsletter).  Students are reminded that decisions about subject choice for next year may be made based on their exam performance. Results will also be used to determine Senior Prizegiving awards, Derived Grades and will be recorded on their Senior Report for the year.

Yesterday Mrs Kilpatrick briefed Yr 11 students on NCEA exam expectations and rules.

Normal classes do not run for seniors at all during this week. Students are only required to be in attendance for exams, in uniform, otherwise they should be studying at home. Students who are absent from exams must follow usual absence requirements.  A catch up exam is offered only in exceptional circumstances.

Explanation of exam leave & half –day absences

Parents are advised that the Ministry of Education requirement for exam leave means that your son will be marked out of school for the week of the exams with the code “X” for exam leave and it will contribute towards your son’s ½ day absence summary; however this is not a cause for any concern with regard to their absence record.

NZQA fees reminder for 2017

Your NZQA fees invoice was emailed out at the beginning of Term Two.  Please ensure these are paid by Monday 28 August 2017 otherwise your son’s NCEA results for the year will not be released.

This applies to all students entered in NCEA including students who leave school before the end of the year. You can check your fee payment status by logging in to the parent portal and clicking on fees. We appreciate your early attention to this matter as we are charged with collecting this fee on NZQA’s behalf. Information regarding financial assistance was also included. Please contact Barbara Rusbridge at the College as soon as possible if you require financial assistance. brusbridge@stbedes.school.nz or phone 3750647 ex 833.
