Information and Updates

WATER POLO

Both the Junior A and B teams have had a fantastic start to the South Island Junior Tournament being played at Jellie Park and QE II over the weekend.

The Junior A have beaten Shirley Boys’ High School 21 to 3 and St Andrew's College 19 to 3. The Junior B had a great game against Christchurch Boys’ High School going down 0 to 13 but the score was not a true indication of a game and they lost to Otago Boys’ High School in another great game going down 10 to 11. They are certainly getting stronger in every game.

We wish both teams well for Saturday and Sunday games.

Water Polo Prize-giving

Water polo's first prize-giving is on Sunday 6 December (4.00om to 5.45pm) at Jellie Park. This will start with a game which will be the boys against the parents, finishing with a brief poolside prize-giving. All water polo boys and their parents are invited to attend.

RUGBY SEVENS

Congratulations to the following Rugby Sevens players who have been awarded Honour Pockets for 2020. Zeke De Gouw, Luke de Roo, Naita Fifita, Sam Lawry and George Methven. The Rugby Sevens team have qualified for the National Condor Sevens that will be played in Auckland on the 10th and 11th of December 2020 and we wish the team well.

AFL

Congratulation to Luke de Roo who has been retained by the Western Crows for the 2021 AFL New Zealand Premiership season. The Head Coach Matt Cawley is excited about Luke’s future in the game.

“Luke was a beneficial acquisition for the Crows last season. He has an endless amount of potential, and will likely end up a very secure and strong centre half back or centre half forward. I was so pleased to be able to retain him for 2021 and you will see him in a Falcons guernsey for many years to come.”

THE ATHLETE'S FOOT – Riccarton Mall

A huge thank you to Simon from The Athlete's Foot in Riccarton Mall who have donated a mountain of sports gear to St Bede’s College for every boy to use.

Thank you also must go to our parents who support their shop, as every time you buy a pair of shoes The Athlete's Foot kindly donate $15.00 from each pair to the College. This is a partnership that has been going on for over five years and we really do appreciate the support that Simon and The Athlete's Foot give to St Bede’s College and look forward to our parents continuing to support this generous offer. A huge thank you to everyone for making this happen.
