1st XV vs Waimea Combined Schools lost 10-17

Waimea played their best game of rugby right from the start. Their strike weapon at 15 was all class, scoring all their points in a well-deserved win. St. Bede’s came to the game with good preparation, but did not execute well, despite the boys digging deep to the end.

Highlights were a dominant scrum for the full 70 mins and it was great to see Pottsey back in the front row getting through a solid 35 mins. With enough good ball through the scrum and lineouts, there were opportunities to put points on the board, but it was not our day.

Congratulations to Will Sparrow and Suliasi Faiva for making their first appearance with the team. They added some punch when needed.

Lots of learnings in this game which will put us in good stead for next weekend at home against the Black/White of Christ's College.
