Citizens Advice Bureau - Recruiting New Volunteers

Citizens Advice Bureau are recruiting new volunteers for induction training starting 11 September 2018.

The main role being recruited for is that of Volunteer Interviewer. You will get to deal with clients asking a wide range of questions from anything as simple as "how do I cook a chicken", right through to "I've just separated from my partner what happens to our relationship property"?

Most of the work is done over the phone (80%), face to face (15%) email (5%). As a volunteer you are not expected to "know" everything but rather the focus is in on researching client questions using mainly websites or databases, discussing with the client the information in a way they can understand it, and then helping them to develop a plan.

When it looks like the client will need ongoing support, help or advocacy, then volunteers refer the client usually to two or three organisations working in the community.

For more information please call 0800 367 222 or email manager.cabchch@gmail.com
