Welcome to our August edition.
Hello!
I hope everyone is doing well out there and that life is treating you kindly. It’s always great to connect with our community, and I want to take a moment to reflect on the recent Annual Dinner. What a fantastic evening it was! The energy in the room was incredible, and it was great to see so many familiar faces. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the photos from the night—they capture the spirit of our gathering perfectly. And yes, I'm sorry (but not really) for my enthusiastic rendition of the college song! I hope it brought back some fond memories for all of you.
I also want to remind you of the key message from my speech that night: we all have "one job." That job is to bring even more old boys to the next dinner, especially since next year marks the 100th anniversary of our first-ever dinner. Let’s make it an event to remember by gathering as many of us as possible.
Congratulations again to the award winners from the dinner, Michael Leitch and Gerard Smyth — your achievements are a testament to the values we hold dear. You inspire us all to strive for excellence in everything we do.
And remember, your "one job" for the next year: get more old boys at the 100 year dinner!
A big thank you to everyone who has already paid their subs for the year. Your support is what keeps our association strong and active. For those who haven’t yet, please consider this a friendly reminder to do so—every contribution makes a difference.
Lastly, as we look ahead, let’s stay connected and keep the momentum going. Whether it’s through attending events, reaching out to old friends, or simply staying engaged with our community, every action counts. We’re part of something special here, and together, we can continue to build on the legacy of St Bede's College.
Here’s to making the most of every opportunity and staying united in our shared journey.
Best regards,
Matt
