Weekly round-up of results and sporting news

Coming Events

St Kevin’s College Exchange will take place on Tuesday, 7 June, and the Rugby 1st XV and Under 15A and the Senior A Basketball team will play.

Sport and Cultural Photos – will be taken on Thursday, 9 June.

St Patrick’s College, Silverstream Exchange is in Silverstream this year with the 1st XV and Football 1st XI along with the Senior Debating teams taking part.  All teams will travel up and play then travel back on Wednesday, 15 June.


Rugby Dates

Rugby will be played on Saturday, 4 June – Saturday of Queens Birthday Weekend.

Rugby will be played on Saturday, 9 July – first Saturday of the July holidays, but no games will be played on Saturday, 16 July (mid weekend) and Saturday, 23 July (last Saturday of July holidays).


Basketball

There will be no Basketball played on Friday, 3 June which is Queen’s Birthday weekend.

 

Water Polo

Congratulations to the following St Bede's College students that have been selected in the Canterbury Water Polo teams to compete in the Pan Pacific Tournament in Auckland in the July holidays.

U14 Canterbury Boys are George Methven, Findlay Knox, Ben Morrison, Jake Rochford, Riley Stewart, Sam O'Neill and Patrick O'Neill.

U16 Canterbury Boys: Ryan Crosbie and Sam Morrison.

U18 Canterbury Boys: Bradford Shortland.

We wish all the players all the very best and Water Polo will be in good hands at St Bede’s College for a few years to come.  Well done.

 

Surfing Canterbury

Canterbury Scholastic Surf Champs were held at New Brighton Beach on Sunday, 22 May. The weather was a freezing 10 C with an even lower wind chill, however the surfing action was red hot

Neko Toihiariki (Year 9) won the U14 Boys, and was 2nd in the Long board.

Jack Wilson won the Under 18 plate.

 

 Team of the Week: Pita Pit team of the Week:

 Hockey 1st XI team of week who won against Cashmere High School 1st XI 5 goals to 2 with the highlight being a hat trick scored by Scott Muir.
