This week's news includes a win for the Jazz ensemble and last week's Widor Mass

Jazz ensemble wins an award at Southern Jam

The Jazz group had a successful trip to the Blenheim Southern Jam festival and competition, winning an award for the most promising group. They performed four brackets of jazz numbers at cafes and St. Joseph’s primary school over the three days and took part in the final gala concert on Saturday evening in the new ASB Events Centre.

It was a great experience for the students, inspiring them to attain to higher standards as individual musicians and as a group.

 

Widor Mass on Sunday

Members of the Senior Choir took part in the annual Widor Mass for the Feast of the Assumption at the Pro-Cathedral.

The contribution of the students was greatly appreciated by the organisers, and many favourable comments were received about the boys and their contribution from both the clergy and congregation.

Many thanks to Ms Helen Charlton for preparing the singers for this event.
