Update for this week...

Canterbury Cross Country  Championship
Well done to those 26 runners who braved the pouring rain and mud on Tuesday to take part in the Canterbury Secondary School’s Cross Country Championships.

Isiah Atherton finished 18th in the AWD grade with 36 in his race.

Luke Ziswile-Hayton was our best Under 14 runner finishing 16th.

Jarod Gillespie was our best Junior Boy finishing 14th and Dominic Gardiner came in 27th out of 40 runners.

Nick Moulai ran an excellent race in the Intermediate Boys and did not disappoint coming in 1st place.  Connor High ran an excellent race coming in 5th, Will Banks 14th, Alan Alex 16th, Robert Methven 18th, and Thomas Whittaker 28th out of 33 runners. This saw the Intermediate Boys come in 2nd in the team’s event.

Tom Moulai ran a great race in the Senior Boys coming 2nd, with Cameron Bartlett coming 7th after slipping in the mud. Cameron Johnston came 21st, Max Christian 25th, Josh Read 26th, Sam Menzies 27th and Jake McKay 28th which saw them come in 2nd in the team’s event.

Well done to all the runners who ran their hearts out in trying conditions.


Basketball

There will be NO Basketball played on Friday 3rd of June which is Queen’s Birthday weekend.


Squash
Congratulations to George Webster who competed in the Canterbury Secondary Schools Squash Champs last Sunday and finished 3rd in the Boy’s individual A grade – well done George.

Sport and Cultural Photos

Sport and Cultural Photo’s will be taken on Thursday 9th of June we welcome coaches and managers to be in teams but understand you may have other commitments and we really appreciate the time and effort you are putting into these teams.

St Patrick’s College Silverstream exchange is in Silverstream this year with the 1st XV an invitational Football 1st XI along with the Senior Debating teams taking part.  All teams will travel up and play then travel back on the Wednesday 15th June.


Rugby Dates

Rugby will be played on Saturday, 4 June – Saturday of Queens Birthday Weekend.

Rugby will be played on Saturday 9th July – first Saturday of the July holidays, but not games on Saturday, 16 July (mid weekend) and not game Saturday, 23 July (last Saturday of July holidays).

1st XV Rugby play St Andrews College this Saturday at St Andrews College at 2.45pm.

St Andrews College are the current holders of the Moascar Cup which is the Ranfurly Shield of school boy rugby and St Andrew's has put the Cup up for this game, so come along and support the team.
