Students attend painting workshop

Last week, a number of Year 11 Art students and Mrs King attended a painting workshop at the Christchurch Art Gallery with Simon Edwards. The workshop utilised a technique called decalcomania where ink is used to create layers of colour and shape. After the introductory process was complete, the students were able to spend the remainder of the day experimenting in their own way, resulting in some impressive works of art.

 

Student tutors in DJing

Several weeks ago Year 11 student Cathal Dickson spent a day being filmed for the Adam and Eve show while giving the presenters DJing lessons. He is also to appear on the show doing a live set. Cathal is busy with composition activities as well and recently, he has had a composition go on a collective record label. The single is now being played at venues around city.

Rockquest Regional Finals

The Rockquest Regional Finals are on tonight at 7pm at the Bedford. Best wishes and good luck to the Year 11 band comprising Jonathan Boyle, Matt McCarthy and Kalem Edlin who made it through to the regional finals of Rockquest.
