Rowing Annual General Meeting

The St Bede’s College Rowing Club Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, 15 August at 7.00pm at St Bede's College.

Please forward any expressions of interest for the St Bede's Rowing Committee Management Team for 2016-2017 season to stbedesrowingchch@gmail.com or sport@stbedes.school.nz. We are especially interested in potential candidates for the Treasurer and Secretary roles, with the current incumbents retiring.

The Management Team have an important responsibility and commitment in running a successful school rowing program.

 

Cycling South Island Championships

Josh Shipley and Jarod Gillespie cycled in the South Island Secondary Schools Championships on the 1st weekend of the holidays, Josh finishing 28th in his time trial and Jarod finishing 12th.  Jarod rode a really well judged road race on Sunday to finish 8th in a sprint for the line.

Both boys were really proud to wear their new uniforms and looked great.

 

Canterbury Hockey Under 15 Representivies

Congratulations to Joe Morrison and George Baker who has made the Canterbury Hockey Under 15A represented team and Lucas Dutton, Finnian Neilsen, Rupert Naughton and Charlie Hall who made the B side.

 

Futsal

Congratulations to  Max McInerney – Boon who was selected in the North Canterbury U16 Futsal team who attended  the national tournament in Palmerston North, where they won all of their 8 games and winning the National title.

 

Bingo night – Ethel and Bethel this Saturday, thanks to all those that have brought tickets, door open at 7.00pm.  Bingo starts at 7.30pm bring plenty of $5.00 notes for extra bingo cards and drinks.  Eftpos will be available.  

 

Marlborough Boys’ College Exchange

Please keep permission form and payment in for this exchange to Marlborough Boys’ College on Monday, 8 August and being billeted that night and play their games on the Tuesday and travel back to Christchurch that night.  Permission forms will be given out by team managers and these need to be filled out and handed into the Main School Office with payment of $70.00 for the bus.

 Rugby:                  Under 15A and Under 14A

Football:              1st XI and Junior selected team – trials for this team will take place on the first Tuesday back at the start of term 3.

Hockey:                1st XI

Basketball:          Senior A and Junior team that has been selected for Junior Tournament in Dunedin

 

 Pita Pit Team of the Week

Team of the week goes to the Senior A Basketball team who played one of their best games of the season against Rangiora High School and it was great to see Jaiden Manera take the court after being out all season with an horrific ankle injury.
