Curriculum Update

Important Information for all students.

Senior school exam countdown – Three weeks to go

Only three weeks until school exams! Students should be well into their personal revision programme by now. Students in Years 10-12 received the curriculum handbook from their Tutors on Wednesday morning and this will provide important information on subject choice for next year and the prerequisites for each subject. Students need to be aware that decisions about subject choice for them is likely to be made based on their exam performance. Results will also be used to determine Senior Prizegiving awards, potential Derived Grades in the event of disruption to student learning through illness or other unforeseen event, results are recorded on school reports. Exams for Year 11-13 are in Week 5, August 15-19.

 

Subject Choice & Careers Expo on August 2

An important event for all parents and students is our Subject Choice & Careers Evening on Tuesday August 2. Subject displays, the opportunity to talk to staff as well as representatives from tertiary providers will provide an opportunity for parents and sons to make considered subject decisions for next year.  A programme will be emailed out prior to the event. The event is being held in the college gym.

 

NZQA info

Candidate National Student Number (NSN) cards

Senior Students received their NSN (National Student Number) cards at Tutor Time this week. NZQA issues this small card for all students entered in NCEA. Each card includes the student’s personal details, their NSN number and explains how a student should register on the web to access their data through the NZQA learner Login. Students need to register in order to receive their results on line and request leaving documents.
