Discretionary Entrance: This has been a very challenging year for students and their teachers.

In response, and to better support students with the ability to succeed in university study, most NZ Universities are changing the approach they have for entry requirements.

Discretionary Entrance

The Discretionary Entrance regulations administered by NZQA enables students who have completed Year 12 in a New Zealand secondary school or equivalent, to enter universities without having met all of the University Entrance requirements. Students applying to go to University who have not achieved University Entrance this year should contact the Admissions Teams of their chosen University. These teams, will give advice and support on study options, including Discretionary Entrance, depending on their circumstances.

Hall of Residence Applications for Otago and Canterbury, close on Monday 15 September.

If you have not applied for a Hall of Residence, applications close on Monday for the 1st round of selection.

If you think you could support our school in this way, we would love to speak to you more about it.
