Dear Students and Parents,

SUMMER SPORT
We begin another year of sport at St Catherine's College with the first cricket and Senior volleyball games coming up in Week 2.
Other summer sports offered this term include bowls, floorball, futsal, handball, tennis, touch rugby, and Junior volleyball.
Also let us know if you are interested in golf, softball, ultimate frisbee or water polo as we can enter a team or make combined teams with other schools.

The SCC Sports Booklet 2022 is attached.
Parents can register their daughters for Term 1 summer sports as well as netball through the google form link in the Sports Booklet or copy/paste this link into your web browser:

COMMUNICATION
Particularly over the last two years, changes and cancellations to school sport have occurred frequently and at short notice. We will try to give accurate updates as soon as possible. The most up-to-date sport information can usually be accessed through the daily Panui notices and the SCC Notices 2022 Facebook group page. Students playing sport should also check their school emails daily.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Currently all students, coaches and managers involved in any sanctioned school sport in New Zealand are required to be double vaccinated.

COACHES AND MANAGERS
Assistance from parents, caregivers, family and friends in sports teams is welcomed. The St Catherine’s Sports Programme cannot successfully function without volunteer coaches, managers and umpires. Your involvement and help is greatly appreciated. Please let the Sport Coordinator know if you can help out - sport@scc.school.nz

FEES
We do not want sports fees to prevent any student from playing in their chosen sport. Please contact the Principal, Sport Coordinator or Finance Manager for support at any time or to arrange a payment schedule.
Any outstanding sports fees from 2021 must be paid or payment arrangement made before playing sport in 2022.

NEW SPORT COORDINATOR
Finally, I would like to introduce Kristina Rybinski, your new Sport Coordinator. Kristina's background includes gymnastics, netball and athletics.
I am supporting her for the first few weeks of this term and, while we continue under the "no spectator" rule, will remain invested in our students' sporting participation and achievements from afar for now.
