Relay for Life

Joanne Robinson —

Tēnā koutou,

Relay for Life is a community event that gives people a chance to celebrate cancer survivors and carers, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back by raising awareness and funds for the Cancer Society. The money raised through Relay For Life helps people in our community through the Cancer Society's support services, health promotion programmes, and cancer research and prevention.

The Relay for Life is being held at Trentham Racecourse, Upper Hutt, from 3pm on Saturday the 29th of April to 8am on Sunday the 30th of April.

Our participation in this event is a student-led initiative between students from St Patrick’s College and St Catherine's College and we are very passionate about this event taking place between our schools, however, it will not be possible without the involvement and support of our whānau and staff. We would really appreciate having volunteers to supervise students during the day and night. We are hoping to organise a shift roster for parents and staff once we have a final number of volunteers available.

Together with St Patricks we’re putting together a team to compete and we need at least 7 adults to help us by supervising throughout the event.

We understand that you may be busy with other commitments, but if you would still like to contribute, we will be holding fundraising events in the lead up to the relay for life event. We would greatly appreciate your support.

If you are available, please respond with your name and contact details by 12pm, Friday the 17th of March

Ngā mihi,
