In December last year, Alessandra Basile (Year 12) was asked to return to play at the Garibaldi Club for the senior's Christmas lunch. The Italian ambassador happened to be there and was impressed with her playing. Alessandra was asked by the Ambassador to play for lunch at the Italian Embassy to celebrate Italian National Day, Friday 2 June for over 200 guests. Her violin teacher suggested pieces for her to play; a piece by Vivaldi, Ave Maria (Gounod and Bach) and a Tarantella piece.
