This is the first year that New Zealand has celebrated "Mānawatia a Matariki" Honour/acknowledge/welcome Matariki. We all enjoyed the recognition of this new holiday on 24 June 2022.

As part of this celebration, the Year 10 Creative Technology class designed T-Shirts to wear.

We ran a competition in assembly for the best T-Shirt. Congratulations to Bethanya Zergabachew, who won this competition with her design showing the family at the heart of Matariki. As the winner, we have made up Bethanya’s T-Shirt and many of the staff wore them on Thursday 23rd. Other designs from Keira Delany and Manuela Amanuel were also popular, so some of us wore them too.

I was very proud of all of the designs made by the Creative Technology class Congratulations to all of the Year 10 Creative Technology students, this was a great activity to do.
