Keeping Safe, Being Kind, Asking For Help

Katrina Kerr-Bell —

FACE COVERINGS

Face coverings must be worn on all public transport and when entering public buildings at Alert Level 2. I would encourage whānau to ensure that your daughter has one with her.  The wearing of masks is for her well-being and the well-being of those she interacts with.

PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE ETIQUETTE

We ask all students to continue to practice good hygiene in the form of washing and drying hands with soap regularly; coughing or sneezing into their elbow; and more importantly, if your daughter is sick or feeling unwell please keep her at home.

SHARING OF DRINK BOTTLES

The sharing of drink bottles is still occurring at times.  Support from home about why this is dangerous would be appreciated.  It is hard for students to say no to each other, so it is easier if students do not ask to share drinks.

SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS

If students are feeling anxious being at school or feel overwhelmed or need someone to talk to, please encourage them to speak to their whanau teacher or a staff member they get on well with. It is absolutely okay if they are feeling this way. Our Guidance Counsellor Sophie, Deans, teaching staff and administration staff are all there to support students.  Please let us know if your daughter is struggling.
