Our School Values

Te tapu o te tangata - Respect for Human Dignity

Aroha - Compassion

Awhinatanga - service

Tika - Justice

Aroha ki te rawa kore - Care for the poor and the vulnerable

It was great to see so whānau joining in with the Student Learning Conversations.  We had 89% attendance.  What your daughters shared with us about how they learn is really important as it helps us to provide and teach in a way that supports them to succeed.  As staff, we are looking at the feedback that has been given and using this to look at how we deliver what we teach and how we teach.

Whānau Hui Tuesday 10th of May at 6pm

To be held on Tuesday 10th of May at 6pm in Studio 1, this is an opportunity to share what is happening for our Maori students and to meet Whaea Chez.

Strategic Plan

The Board of Trustees is currently reviewing our Strategic Plan for the next three years.  Student and Whānau input is essential in shaping our vision and the direction we are headed.  Over this term, we will be seeking your thoughts and suggestions.  Attached is a form for you to share your thoughts.

Catherine McAuley wanted women to have choices, to have pathways open to them. To be successful in this vision we need partnerships, we need others to help us when we struggle, we need to be able to help others.

St Catherine of Avila’s prayer

Christ has no body but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Yours are the eyes with which He looks

Compassion on this world,

Yours are the feet with which He walks to do good,

Yours are the hands, with which He blesses all the world.

Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,

Yours are the eyes, you are His body.

Christ has no body now but yours,

No hands, no feet on earth but yours,

Yours are the eyes with which he looks

compassion on this world.

Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

As we begin a new term it is important for us to remember that we are called to work with others.

Masks

About 60%of our students and 75% of our teachers have not yet had covid.  while numbers remain high in our community, we would like it to stay this way.  we expect masks to be worn in all indoor settings to continue keeping everyone safe.  Let us continue to respect those around us by using this barrier against getting covid, and to prevent re-infection for those who have already had it. Masks will continue to be available from the office if students lose or forget theirs and we still have RAT kits available for students to take home for testing.

Attendance

There is no reason to stay away from school unless a student is a household contact and hasn't already had covid (seven days isolation) or has covid themselves (seven days isolation from the onset of symptoms). We do hope that our absences are much lower than the last term, and of course, this means the hybrid learning model will also be less accessible to students. We will continue to keep our records of students isolating or those who have tested positive so we ask that you continue to contact the school with this information.
