Mercy Day - Serving with a spring in our step

Katrina Kerr-Bell —

Mercy Day – September 24

On the 24th of September every year, Sisters of Mercy and their friends around the world celebrate Mercy Day. This is the day on which Catherine McAuley first opened the House of Mercy in Ireland and dedicated it to Our Lady of Mercy. This is a day to celebrate all the wonderful work Sisters of Mercy and their friends do around the world.

Loving God we thank you for the life of Catherine McAuley and the legacy she has left.  May your Spirit continue to fill us with Mercy and Wisdom so that we all live our lives doing the ordinary things extraordinarily well.

We have had a beautiful group of students join us today who are all enrolled for 2022.  They have come to sit the Ryan Family, St Maria Scholarship.  It is uplighting to see such a large group of students striving to do well, wanting to give their best.  We continue to pray for these students and those already in the College that they know the gifts they have and are supported to thrive.

I hope to see some of you at our working bee tomorrow.
