Reflection

Katrina Kerr-Bell —

Luke 13: 23-24 Someone asked him, "Lord, will only a few be saved?" He said to them, 'Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.'

Later on in Luke's Gospel, he says it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven.   The eye of the needle was at the time the door into the city.  The load or possessions needed to be unloaded for the camel to fit through the door.

The door is open for everyone! What we can take from this passage is that only a few choose to have a real relationship with Jesus.  Do I stand outside the door or do I want to enter into something that will change my life?
