Joanah - Ngan Woo

Katrina Kerr-Bell —

We wish Joanah and the Black Ferns our prayers and best wishes for the final of the World Cup this Saturday. We are so proud of Alumni Joanah, currently playing in the Women's World Cup for the Black Ferns.

From a berth in the Black Ferns’ wider training squad in 2017 to a full contract in 2018, Joanah Ngan-Woo enjoyed a meteoric rise up the ranks.

The Wellington Pride lock took up the game in Year 9 at St Catherine’s College, and by the age of 16 had linked up with the Oriental Rongotai club, from where she has played over 40 times for the Pride since 2013.

Ngan-Woo has struck up a useful second-row combination for the Pride with Sanita Levave. She made her Black Ferns debut in 2019 against USA in the Super Series in San Diego.

Away from rugby Ngan-Woo has completed a Bachelor of Arts in social policy and education at Victoria University.
