Year 10 visits Higgins Construction in Palmerston North as part of the Connexis infrastructure initiative.

An early departure of 7am did not stop a group of Year 10 students heading to Palmerston North on June 10th. The day was designed to give the students a day experience of working in infrastructure; road construction, landfill, traffic management. The students were kitted out with safety gear as soon as we arrived and listened to three females working in the industry. The students were kept busy with three rotations of activities; the laboratory, traffic management and using the digger. The weather was wet but energy was high as the students asked lots of questions and gave everything a go. The students were a credit to St Catherine's College.  Thanks to Mrs Miller and Connexis for the opportunity .
