USO - Unlimited Science Opportunities

Rebecca Rapira-Davies —

We were very lucky to have Tahlia Crabtree come and speak to our students on Thursday about studying and working as a Meteorologist, presenting the weather on MetService featured on Stuff, and now working as an Outreach Coordinator at the Robinson Institute. She studied what she enjoyed at school; maths and physics, and this took her to Canterbury University where she found her passion in Meteorology and science communication. "It's a fascinating career. Every day the weather will present a new problem for you to think about." Our USO programme is on every Thursday after school in the Biology and Mac labs. It is a great time for students to come and get some work done, with the benefit of having help from the science teachers and senior science students, while having some yummy afternoon tea! Anyone is welcome.
