Tēnā koutou e te whānau

Katrina Kerr-Bell —

Last week's Gospel Reading was one we are familiar with and is the basis of Jesus' teaching. John 13: 34-35

My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

I attended Miha (Mass in Maori) at the Home of Compassion, and Father James Lyon's preached. He spoke about love. When we first enter a relationship, we are attracted because of what is good, and we know that this will be good for us. Over time as that love grows, we give more of ourselves to those we love.

PTA Thank you for the painting

Last weekend we had volunteers come in to help paint the corridors of the Marica Wilson block. It was a fantastic few hours, and the transformation was noticeable. Although schools should not need to ask parents to do this work, it does mean that we can use the money saved to spend on students. The love that the  St Catherine's community continually shows in supporting us is appreciated.

Open Night - Wednesday 8th June 2022

We are approaching Open Night and a time when we are trying to attract students to our College. We want them to fall in love with us, to feel the love. I am continually impressed by the students at St Catherine's and their genuine care and love for each other. You, the students and parents of St Catherine's, are the best advertisement we can get. Please share what an outstanding, caring College we are and encourage others to check us out.
