Guided by the Balance is Better principles, this programme focuses on the holistic development of athletes across a range of codes. Sport Development Programme is designed to empower young Wellington athletes (years 11-13) to actively pursue their goals in sport and life. Guided by the Balance is Better principles, this programme focuses on the holistic development of athletes across a range of codes. Funded by WCC and run by Nuku Ora, the programme provides rangatahi with an opportunity, free of charge, to access over an 8-month period: • The creation of an Individual Performance Plan (IPP) with Raise My Game Training • Physical Movement screening (If required from IPP) • Health, well-being and mental skills workshops • Strength & conditioning fundamentals (If required from IPP) • Talks from professional/elite athletes from within the Wellington region (TBC) • To be part of a group of rangatahi who are motivated to achieve their goals and understand the commitment it takes NOTE: applications from athletes outside of Wellington City are welcomed but priority will be given to those inside the Wellington City Council boundaries with a maximum allowance of 20% of successful athletes residing outside of the boundaries.
