St Clair School

Welcome to St Clair School

Our Vision: Capable, Confident, Creative Children Contributing to our Community

St Clair School is a state-funded, Year 1–6 primary school, with a grading roll of approximately 460 pupils. The school is located in the seaside suburb of St Clair, in Dunedin, New Zealand.

St Clair School has a strong tradition of high-quality learning, within a safe, engaging and caring environment. It is recognised for its innovative learning programmes, its focus on student agency and the integrated use of e-tools to support learning. Its outstanding achievement in Music and Performance Arts is also widely acknowledged. Repeated ERO reviews attest to the high quality of school programmes provided at St Clair School.

Redevelopment

Over the past few years, major building redevelopment work has provided an innovative and flexible learning environment for pupils and staff. The design makes extensive use of glass, open space and physical connection to enhance the learning experience of all children. This has enabled us to move towards more collaborative teaching, and the implementation of programmes to increase student agency.
