Using the guidance from the MOE this is what the next three weeks at school will look like. This will be reviewed at the end of term.
Water Bottles
Drinking fountains have been turned off. Students need to bring their own named water bottles.
Drop off and Pick up
MOE Guidelines for Delta Alert Level 2 suggest that parents and caregivers do not come on site if at all possible. We will have drop off and pick up only approach to restrict the number of ‘adults on-site’. Where possible there should be one person designated for pick up and drop off.
Kākano Students - From tomorrow onwards we will deliver children to the gates - please complete this form to let us know which gate you would prefer to meet your child at.
Of course there will be some children that this will not work for initially and that is ok. If you need to come onsite you MUST either scan in using the QR codes on the gates or buildings OR go the office and sign in on paper or on the Vistab. We ask that you wear a mask while you are onsite and while you are waiting at the gate. Teachers will wear masks on road patrol and at the gates for drop off and pick up.
Wearing of face masks for students
Students do not need to wear masks however will be supported if they should choose to do so.
Assemblies
There will be no full school assemblies during this time. The teams will have an assembly in their Hubs and certificates will be given out at these.
Return of School Owned Devices
If your child was loaned a school-owned Chromebook this needs to be returned to school with the charger on Thursday. Please get your child to return these devices to the school office. Thank you.
Standard hygiene measures
We will do our very best to enact standard hygiene protocols and work within the set parameters of Delta Level 2 as per Ministry of Health orders for school settings. Please prepare your child for this.
This includes:
- hand hygiene – that is, washing hands regularly with soap and water and drying well, and using hand sanitiser when soap and water aren’t available
- coughing or sneezing into tissues or your elbow and then performing hand hygiene
- cleaning surfaces regularly.
