Kākano Hub has made a great start to Term Three. Our Project Based Learning Question this term is “Why is Antarctica important to us?”

 We have started the unit off by looking at maps of New Zealand and identifying the places we went on holiday. Then we looked at the world map and where New Zealand is in relation to Antarctica. We have enjoyed some igniter activities in Learning Through Play such as the Penguin sensory tray and looking at how ice turns from a solid into a liquid. Look out for an Ice Cave that will soon appear in the Kākano Hub in the next few weeks!
