Email Etiquette

Jo Earl —

Tip for the week

Your children are doing very well this week managing their Distance Learning. This is no mean feat especially for our Year 3/4 students who are really only just starting to work in this space. We thought we would just remind you where the supports are for this.

In the Distance Learning Slideshow that is embedded on the website you will find all the short videos that we have placed there to provide support during this time.

Email etiquette is important for students to learn. This is a more formal type of communication and we want to encourage them to use a more formal approach than a text for example.

Encourage your children to:

- always include a greeting

- put a short title in the subject line (not the whole message)

- Check the body of the emails for capitals and fullstops (it's ok to have a couple of errors).

- end properly with a polite sign off

- not to use text language

All of this is covered in this short video.
