End of Year Dates and Happenings

Jo Earl —

The last few weeks have flown - check out the calendar so you don't miss anything that is happening in the last few days of the school year.

Prizegivings

Just like last year we intent to hold two separate prizegiving events.

The Junior Prizegiving will be held at 2pm in our school hall. Our Kapa haka ropu will open the event. We will hear from Jonathan McKenzie - our Board of Trustees Chairperson and we will celebrate achievements of students from the Kākano and Paiaka Hubs. This event will finish by 3pm.

The Senior Prizegiving will be held at 6pm in the school hall. Once again the Kapa haka ropu will open the event. We will celebrate achievement of the students in the Tumu and Kaupeka Hubs and we will also celebrate our Year 8 students who leave us at the end of this year.

This prizegiving will be finished by 7.15pm.

End of Year Mass

On our last day (Tuesday 17 December) we will all come together to celebrate Mass in the hall at 11am. This is a really important time for us as a school community to give thanks to God for the wonderful and many blessings that have been bestowed on us here this year at St Francis of Assisi Catholic School. We will also be farewelling Fr Tien at this Mass - he leaves the Parish at the end of January to go to the Waimakariri Parish. What a blessing he has been - we have loved having him here and we will miss him.

You are all most welcome to join us for this Mass - it would be great send off to Fr Tien to have a full house - it is important to show our children the importance of Gratitude - especially at this time of the year.
