Jo Earl —

We have had a fantastic week here at school which culminated in a lovely assembly run by our Paiaka students.

Structured Literacy

On Tuesday this week, eight of our staff spent the morning at Kaiapoi North School observing how Structured Literacy runs in their school and how they use the programme for intervention groups throughout the school.

We were hosted by Jason Miles (Principal) and Felicity Fahey (Deputy Principal) who talked about their journey with Structured Literacy. What a privilege to see it embedded throughout their school - it helped us reflect on what we are doing and set our next steps in this area.

Next term we will be running a parent information evening on Structured Literacy. We will advertise it as soon as we have chosen a date. This would be a good session for all parents - not just those in the junior school.
