St Joseph the Worker

Louise MacKay —

Wednesday May 1st marked the Feast of St Joseph the worker. St. Joseph, the beloved spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and earthly father of Jesus, is celebrated twice by the Catholic Church every year, first on March 19 for the feast of St. Joseph, husband of Mary, and again on May 1st for the feast of St. Joseph the Worker. As we begin Term 2 and life gets busy again, we can pray this prayer to St Joseph.

St. Joseph, by the work of your hands and the sweat of your brow, you supported Jesus and Mary, and had the Son of God as your fellow worker. Teach me to work as you did, with patience and perseverance, for God and for those whom God has given me to support.

St Joseph the Worker, Pray for us.
