Fun Family Event - Christmas in the City.

Jo Earl —

Collaboration between City Mission, the ChCh Business Association and NZ Choral Federation has led to what looks to be an amazing event.

On Saturday 28 November, 11:00am - 1:00pm, the City Mission in collaboration with the ChCh Business Association and NZ Choral Federation will be presenting a fun event for families in which children will be able to participate in activities and singing, while pursuing a punting Santa to the Bridge of Remembrance where he will unveil a 10m high Christmas Tree.

With so many Christmas events cancelled this year - this looks like a fun event for families that you can all enjoy.

The fun will start at Margaret Mahy Playground just before 11am and progress down the banks of the Avon River to Bridge of Remembrance, arriving there at 12noon. Jason Gunn and Santa's elves will keep the crowds amused along the way.

Some of our pupils participated in our spring SingFest this year and loved the experience.

This is an opportunity to come and join in again, and bring joy to our beautiful city.

Lights, decorations and displays

Christchurch shops often decorate their windows and have Christmas displays. Department store Ballantynes is famous for its Christmas window. This year's window is launching on Friday 20 November from 4pm with an afternoon of entertainment, a sausage sizzle and dress-up competition.
