Jo Earl —

Isolation periods are being shortened. From 11:59pm Friday, 11 March, people with COVID-19 and their Household Contacts must isolate for 7 days, not 10 days.

Covid Update

We now have several students who have tested positive and several more isolating as household contacts.

From midnight tonight the number of days that you have to isolate changes from 10 to 7.

Household Contacts will need to test on Day 3 and Day 7. Once you have recovered from COVID-19, you will not need to isolate again for 3 months, if someone else in your household tests positive during that time. This is an increase from 1 month.

Please let us know if this is the case.

Learning From Home

Make sure you read the article about learning from home that we emailed to you this week. I have included this in the newsletter as well. We will keep you updated should anything change or should new resources become available.

Mathematics

I have had the privilege of observing many Maths lessons around the school this week. I have seen a renewed energy from our students towards Maths and been a part of many discussions about Maths which has been really awesome.

Parking

We are very aware that there are not many places for parking on Innes Rd when you want to drop the children to school. This is why we ask you to use the P3 parking properly - if you are using the P3 parking you can not leave your car - you wait in your car, or beside your car for your children to come to you.

Please do not park on the yellow lines as this obstructs the view of our wonderful Road Patrol team.

We understand that it is frustrating - it may suit you better to use one of the other entrances.

We are currently having a plan created for the front entrance but I think that it will get worse before it gets better once building starts on the other part of the site.

Swimming Lessons

We had swimming lessons planned for the last weeks of this term, however we have now postponed them as there is too much uncertainty around how many students will be away.

Trying to get a date later in the year is very hard and we have only one option Weeks 1&2 of Term 3 (25 July through to the 5 August). please complete the survey at the bottom of the email to say whether you are happy with these dates or whether you would like us to defer swimming for a year. We are going to go with a majority decision on this.

Whānau Assisi

We are going to have our first meeting for the year on Monday 14 March at 7pm at school. We will also have google meet going so people can join in virtually if they would like. You can join on this link - Whānau Assisi Meeting which will also be emailed to you on Monday.
