The topic for this last part of the term continues to be Measurement - Time. The children are learning to read analogue and digital time and move between them. They are reading timetables and schedules and calculating distances. The independent task below is an example of one of the Level 2 problems. (Year 3/4)

To celebrate my papa’s birthday our family are coming over for an umukai that the men will lift at 5.30 P.M. The food was prepared for the umukai last night, and the people got up very early to put it down. My Dad says that it will take 13 hours to cook. What time did they put it down? Be prepared to explain and justify your explanation with an representation.
