Jo Earl —

We continue to pray and offer support for those who are suffering because of weather events. Thanks for supporting the gold coin donations today - we will forward the money to the CPPA to forward to affected schools.

New Entrance

How fabulous is our new entranceway? We are thrilled with it. Many people have asked me if we are having an official opening for it - the Board will discuss this at our next meeting, next Wednesday night. There is still a piece of work to come to complete the entrance - we have a design team working on how our cultural and special character narrative will be depicted in the entrance. We will share the draft designs with you for comment when we receive them.

Swimming Sports

The swimming sports was a fantastic event last Friday - it was great to see so many of our tamariki striving to do their best on the day.You can check out the article on the swimming sports for the results.

Woodend Christian Camp

There has been a lot going on in the life of the school. The year 5/6 team has a very successful camp at Woodend Christian Camp on 13-15 February. Thanks so much to Anna Carney and her team for all the work that went into ensuring the success of the camp - we are very aware of the work that needs to be done beofre a camp can go ahead!

Thanks also to the parents who were able to support the camp as parent helpers. We would not be able to participate in Education Outside the classroom without the tautoko from you - Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou.

Parish Community Day

I encourage you all to pop along to the Parish Community Market Day tomorrow - there has been a lot of preparation going on behind the scenes and it's shaping up to be an amazing day.

Music Festival - Representative Groups

Talented singers and musicians from St Francis of Assisi Catholic School can now apply for an audition to join a Representative Group - Junior & Senior Choir, Concert Band, Orchestra. Last year, one of our talented musicians Lucy Blackburn was selected for the Orchestra to play the violin.

Applications are made online on the Festival website here. Parents are asked to make the application so that they are aware of the rehearsal and performance commitments.

Kia pai tō rā whakatā!
