Going Live For A Day
Hi there
On Wednesday the 3rd of July, St Francis of Assisi went live for a day. All term we have had a driving question and it was: "How can we speak up against discrimination?"
At the start of the term we brainstormed what discrimination is, types of discrimination there is and what it looks like. The next day they showed us types of discrimination. Like they let only the boys sit on chairs to show what sexism is. They made it so if you have blue eyes you had to stand at the back of the room while others got to sit down. Then finally they showed us Ageism; making so that if you're a year 8 you had to get your worked checked whereas the year sevens got to go out. This really opened our eyes as to what discrimination is and how people used to get treated way worse for something that you couldn't change. So to speak up against this discrimination we decided to go live for a day and to speak up. We all made one thing; like a podcast, a poetry slam, a talk or even a drama. All day we were live and we did a great job.
