Tough Kids

Eilish Dew and Caiomhe Harrison —

On the 20th of November all of Kaupeka, half of Paiaka and most of the Tumu children participated in the Tough Kids Challenge.

Tough kids is a running event and there are obstacles all the way through. Some of the obstacles were running over tyres, running in the sea, crawling through mud, crawling under nets and much more. There were more than 5000 kids running over the two days that they were doing it. They set off different schools in waves. We were the third wave.

Year 3/4 got set off with the year 5/6. The year 7/8 went by themselves. We had so much fun getting dirty. When we got there we saw lots of superheroes. At the end there was a bouncy house and it had so many people in it. We were all really muddy at the end so there was a slip in slide and a bubble bath to clean us off. We thoroughly enjoyed getting out, having a run and getting muddy!
