Kaupeka DigiAwards

SLT —

The Kaupeka Hub rolled out the red carpet last night showcasing the learning that has been happening all term around the driving question "What is Greatness?"

The students worked collaboratively over the term to dig deep and find out what "greatness" meant to them. They then were able to present their findings in a digital project. There was an amazing range of projects: coding, websites, commercials, storytelling and video, as well as an open section.

Students learned a lot of different digital skills e.g videoing, video editing, coding in scratch, stop motion, building websites and many more.

We were greatly impressed with the end products and the Digi Awards were a wonderful way to share this with a wider audience. We were proud of how confidently our students were able to talk about their projects as people walked around the room.

The awards were marked against the rubrics used at the Grow Waitaha Digi Awards. These Digi Awards Awards are held later in the year and can be entered by students of all ages - Talk to Whitney Hansen if this is something you think your child would be interested in.

Our amazing judges then did a spectacular job of selecting an overall winner and runner up.

A huge thank you to:

Jo Earl - St Francis of Assisi School Principal

Arnika Macphail - Programme Manager Greater Christchurch Schools Network (GCSN)

Kendra Cocksedge - Black Fern
